New Cimarron/Rock Island 1911

This is Cimarron's "World War I" edition, although with a Parkerized finish and various other details it's not really an M1911 of that era. It does seem to be, however, very well made and finished.

The grips are supposedly walnut, but they look a lot lighter in color than other walnut grips I've seen. Maybe some flavor of Philippine wood (or maybe recycled packing crates ).

Anybody else own one of these?

The traditional 1911s look the best to me. Looking forward to a range report too.

Awsome! I'm waiting for my new polished Cimarron to be delivered this weekend- I'll give a full report next week after a few rounds downrange with pictures. Thanks for the pics!

I almost bought a Cimarron 1911 in nickel, but the deal fell thru at the last minute (my local gun shop was deemed "unsafe" so the town govt condemned the building before I could take possession).... anyways, while waiting for a resolution I decided to buy a Ruger SR1911 in stainless steel. I can't afford a 2nd gun right now so I canceled the Cimarron order. It's been months and my local gun shop still hasn't opened a new location.
