Just randomly "stumbled" upon this forum. Not much of a forum "guru", but I enjoy good conversation of guns, especially 1911's. I currently carry a RIA 1911 .45 & Im in the market for new stuff such as grips, magazine, and possibly a location to have the frame sent to to nickel plate, if anyone out there can help with this I would be greatly in debt to you, Thanks!

I was googling some 1911 related question. Can't recall specifically what it was now. Found this forum and registered. I'm pushing 62 and have owned and shot many 1911s over the past 40 years. I currently have a Delta Gold Cup 10mm and a Sig P238 in the 1911 format. Quite a contrast in size and caliber. I have and shoot a variety of revolvers and semi-autos, mostly in .40 on the semis. I hope to add another 1911 into the mix sooner than later. Great forum y'all have here.

1911 google

typed in 1911 inquiring about my two last purchases. Both ended up being Les Baer in large to the posts on the 1911 forum, Thanks. Being a southern Gentlemen and a self proclaimed musician. (Southern Louisiana) Les is the Allman Brothers of the 1911. Shot all the populars, He has the stuff, thanks again.

Bought a Springfield WWII GI to celebrate D-Day (2004) and went searching for instructions on how to field strip the thing after I took her to the range. Funny thing was that I hadn't planned on getting another. Now I have five, including a Caspian I built my self. Okay, pistolwrench worked over the Colt slide.

I'd heard of the forum before. Today, I followed a link over here from the forums at brianenos.com and decided to register while I was here.

I have always wanted a 1911 since I was a kid. I remember as a kid watching my dad shoot his. wish he still had it... I bought my first 1911 in July '10. I may never shoot it, but I want more. I am looking for a 4" for carry and plan to buy other calibers in the 1911

I was searching the web for reviews on my first 1911 purchase, and this forum seemed to be the most well rounded, cleanest run I found.

Then deicied to stick around.

If they are old military arms, go to USGI. Otherwise, go to the brand
subforum.

I traded for a very used 1911 a couple of years ago. When it proved unreliable I searched for help online and found LOG and the other guys lurking on the gunsmithing forum. Advise was doled out and my gun was repaired by the right folks thanks to 1911forum.com!

Found this site while I was looking for 45ACP lead cast bullets. Seems like a very friendly site and no "bashing" of one brand or another. Unlike most of the G***k sites I've been to, where if you're not a G***k lover, you're not ...! I have a G17 Gen 1, and had its magazines fall apart on me. I was told that can't and doesn't happen! I like 1911's and other 45acp pistols and even a 1917 Colt revolver, including a 1918 vintage "US Government Propery" M1911.

Shoot - almost any question or topic on a 1911 or the various manufacturers of 1911's shows this forum up on or near the top when I Google. Lurking here at first was due to recurring search referrals here.

The other one I seem to land at often is the Pennsylvania Gun forum.

I googled "1911 forum," this was the first link.
I love the forum, entertaining and informative.
As of yet I do not own a 1911, but have been thinking about getting one for some time. The information here has helped me greatly in narrowing down all the choices.

How I found this site

I was originally looking for a Forum on Kimbers website but found nothing so I Googled Kimber Firearms and that led me to this site. Pretty cool site so far.

I currently own a Glock 35 (.40) and was thinking about getting a 2nd handgun. Shot a rented 1911 and loved the way how it felt in my hands and how the trigger felt.

Did a search on 1911s on Calguns.net then they mentioned about 1911forum.com so I decided to check it out and register.

It's highly likely that I will be getting a Kimber TLE/RL II

I was looking to get my son a 1911. He shot my brothers Remington Rand when he was home on leave. He said a couple of days afterward that he wants to get a regular old 1911. I (someday they will be all his) have M1s, M1A, M14, AR10s, AR-15s, a Sig, Desert Eagle, Remingtons, Rugers... I did a google search on 1911 so I could get him one when he gets back from Iraq this December and...well as they say the rest is history.
