I understand all the hate and shade sent my way but you guys do see that Trump is not really a Republican right? He is just a self-opportunist who has manipulated the party into his servants for fear that the alternative will cost them their jobs. Thatís not really what the Republican Party should be about. If you are pro-party, which I understand and can support, then you should be in favor of the party ideals (small government, capitalism, constitutional rights, strong moral values, etc). I donít see how you can support Trump so blindly. Yes his priorities are important and things I think are valuable (nation first mentality, repositioning the US as a world leader, protecting our innovation, border security, reshaping trade, bringing common sense back to the main stream versus this overly politically correct environment we have found ourselves in). All great placeholders for policy and change! However how he goes about everything is the problem for me. I truly believe if he quit tweeting from the hours of 11:00 pm-4:00 am, followed a little protocol, didnít do things like serve McDonalds to championship teams at the White House, and quit verbally threatening people with names (as he is the president and should rise above it, not that they donít deserve them). I think he would honestly be publicly stronger, have more valid party support and not drive the news media as far over the edge to where they are constantly criticizing him every minute. Just my thoughts in an effort to have a real dialogue versus being rude or calling people names like others have. Good night everyone.

So the fact that policy-wise he is probably the most conservative President in our life time is just a Jedi mind trick? Good luck convincing the powers that be here that you are anything but a troll.

That may be true, but this country is not yet ready to elect an openly gay president. Not saying a gay or lesbian shouldn't be president, but it is what it is. The hardcore left would love it, but moderates (who make up the majority of voters in this country) would probably not be nearly as enthusiastic. Personally I couldn't care less as long as he/she is a firm 2A supporter, but finding a LGBTQ politician who's pro-2A would be like looking for a set of hens teeth.

What you really mean is:

"If Trump would only act like all the other Returdicans over the last 50 years...."

Yeah, no thanks. He is the right man for the job at the right time. NO ONE else could or would have done the things he has done over the last 3 years or said the things he said last night.

Look at the only Republican to vote to convict Trump: Mitt Romney. Look at his 2A record while he was governor of Massachusetts. That should tell you everything you need to know about RINOs like him.

Not to mention incredibly stupid. He alienated his fellow Republicans while not winning any new fans among Democrat-leaning voters. He basically just torpedoed his own political career.... all for nothing.

This was a letter to the editor that was in Monday's Albuquerque Journal. With a few modifications, I think that I could have written it:

PRESIDENT DONALD Trump is an obnoxious, bullying loud mouth. His hair and skin color are unnatural and in reality, troubling. He is a bombastic egomaniac with unchecked delusions of grandeur. The man is one of the worst orators in American history, and he couldn’t use an appropriate adjective or adverb if his life depended on
it.

He is often childish, churlish and crude. His own people have trouble working and dealing him because he is so headstrong and demanding. President Trump knows little of subtlety, grace or humility. I cringe at some of his tweets.

I don’t give a damn. I don’t care one bit about any of that because he has single-handedly, with no help from the Democrats or their surrogates, despite an activist judiciary and with precious little support from the Republicans — I hesitate to characterize them as his own party — dramatically decreased illegal crossings on our southern border. Our economy is booming.

Unemployment is at it lowest level in decades, especially among minorities.
Our foreign enemies have been kept on their heels. We are making better trade deals. He supports our military and respects what they do, unlike his predecessor. He supports and respects our policemen, unlike his predecessor. The activist judiciary has been placed in check due to his appointments. The man hates socialism and will fight it all the way to the ground.

Unlike his predecessor, President Trump loves this country. The Democrats hate him because (they) haven’t and couldn’t do what he has done for our country, and worse yet for them, they can take no credit for any of it. They hate him because they know that none of that crowd of presidential candidates, singly or collectively, could do a better job. That hate him because after three-plus years of trying 24/7, all they have to impeach him is a weak charge based on biased, second- and third hand impressions of a phone call or two. The No and Never-Trumpers will readily admit they are against anything he is for.

So, just turn all of what he has done 180 degrees and is that really what they are for?
Do they really want a weak economy, high unemployment, terrible trade deals, enemies at the gate and all the rest? He has my vote based on his accomplishments, not his personality. All of you have the right to think for yourself; question is, do you still have the ability?

Systema1927, I agree with you on this editorial. The things that make him grating are also what makes him able to stand it the s**t storm and do what should have be done decades ago. If he could only undo all the gun laws. How cool would it be on his way out he could pull something like that off.

Wow. Learned everything I needed to about the real people behind the posts on this forum tonight. I am not a troll, an avid reader and contributer to this and many other firearms forums. I hope everyone here is a better person off the internet. Good luck in 2020, I believe Trump will win. You guys will have another four years of tranquility. Cheers. I'll start looking for a therapist or whatever now. Might be better company than the what I thought were smart level headed people on this forum.

Heed this advice dmthomp32.....
It does not take a rocket surgeon to understand the true idiocy of the left.
They care not about the sacrifices made. They care not about anyone but themselves.

You have it wrong. Trump has yielded better all around results for every demographic of people nationally. The only reason things arenít better is due to the democratic blockade and lunacy, not to mention back stabbing by some RINOs. As far as guarding 2A, think what you want but there isnt one, libertarian even on the radar. Democrats have No policies to put forth, as evidenced by their crushed faces after the senate vote yesterday. Their single hope was to impeach and get Trump banned from running because they know theyíre getting crushed in November.

Wow, back at you. What did you expect, coming to a gun forum where we all love our guns and shooting? You say you might vote for someone other than President Trump. Don't you get it? If anyone other than Trump is elected, not only will "sensible gun control" laws become the laws of the land, but our whole Constitution, including the Bill of Rights and our 2nd Amendment will be in jeopardy. What are you thinking? If Trump doesn't get re-elected our country will have taken a big step towards socialism, and we, the people, becoming subjects instead of citizens. If you're truly a freedom loving American, I just can understand how you could threaten to vote against President Trump's reelection. Yes, it's that important to the survival of our nation.

There's only 3 ways I see that the DemocRATS have a chance in 2020.

1. Voter fraud. We need voter ID laws in every State, for every election. This wouldn't eliminate the chance of voter fraud, but it's a step in the right direction.

2. A third party candidate that would take votes away from Trump. I suspect Romney is considering running, but I don't think he'd get ANY votes.

3. If Trump voters stay home, instead of voting because they think Trumps reelection is assured.

Irrational statements such what I placed in bold above are likely why you have not been well received here. Where are all these "real Republicans" that have reduced government and promoted capitalism, constitutional rights, and strong moral values better than Trump? Who in your mind would make a better GOP President than Trump? Your assertions simply don't line up with any facts. While Trump has flaws just like everyone else, he is the Republican we should have had decades ago that would have protected the country instead of selling it out to wealthy globalists wanting to flood the country with cheap labor and trade agreements that hurt the country.

Come on, pick a lane. (we learned a bit about you, too, in those posts) At least be honest with yourself. At this point you either support him or you don't... there is no partial or blindly- they are trying to remove him and throw the Nov election. (ironic that they are trying to remove him for what they are trying to do)

You don't like his tactics, I get it but those tactics are the only reason he's gotten things done. He's been able to outmaneuver the dirty dems... first Rep. in a long time to do so! Politics has become so DIRTY... as evidenced by the last 3 years... He's accomplished more for us with VERY little help from anyone else, all the while in the middle of the muller investigation and a corrupt impeachment effort.

He's done more for you , me and the entire country than any other President in my lifetime... and they want to hang him for it. Remember when they said tax cuts were for his friends and the rich 1%? Nope, the poorest of the country are gaining at a faster pace than the rest, just as he predicted. Sure the rich are seeing growth too, but that's BALANCED growth... any other way would be unhealthy.

If Trump acted "Presidential" and didn't tweet, unemployment was at 7%, taxes were higher, growth was stagnant, terror leaders running loose and your 401k was 1/3 of it's current value, the judiciary was out of control activist and all your crap from Mx, China and abroad was 25% more costly - would you be happy??

I think not.

Good day, sir.

I understand where is coming from as I used to vote constitutional party. I listened to others and had to look the other way when I voted fo GW.

I liked Trump and despised Hillary so that was a no brainer
I thank Seventh Fleet for helping me understand that there is no perfect candidate but this is a fight for our country.
