Stuff like this is why I built my own range. It's usually just me, or me and my brother in law. It's set up so only 1 person can shoot at a time. If there's multiple people here we all watch each other closely. ANYONE, including myself, is capable of making a mistake so I don't want to be too harsh on this guy. I'm sure this mishap will have a lasting effect on him, as well as everyone else that was there.

Adherence to just a couple more of the fundamental golden rules of firearm safety, would have prevented that ND.

Bad as this guy shooting himself in the leg was, what had me say "oh no" was when he proceeded to hop forward of the firing line and in front of the person on his right. That could easily have been an even worse disaster.

After a few hours of carrying a steel handgun my belt & pants can sag even with a proper gunbelt. I've taken to wearing suspenders under my vest. That helps a lot, they can sag even with a proper gunbelt.

Poor gun handling training. I carry heavier guns in shoulder holsters. Makes us afraid to go to the range.

Great story for the grandkids, see where I got shot in the war,,,,,,,kids

I felled many big trees, is what I’m about to do safe? Ask your self?
