Who has attended one of these? The website lists dates and locations, but doesn't give a lot of actual information. I was thinking about the October 5th Dayton, OH, but it is a 4+ hour round trip. I'd like to be sure it is more than just a rep and a couple of display guns to make it worth a day.
I am down to all .45 and 9mm for my main guns. I like both calibers and have very nice guns in each. No more .40s (useless!), one 10mm (which I got on a trade, but it’s my bear gun) and a couple .380s for occasional range-funsies.
I do like both...but if I had to pick one...well, i don’t! God Bless America!
I have a DVC-S. I haven’t shot it yet as it’s unfired and I got it in a trade. Not sure if I’m going to shoot it or move it but I’m glad to hear it’s such a good performer.
I went to the Midwest Center in Cridersville today.
Pretty low key. I wish it wasn't 2-1/2 hours away, but glad I got to shoot the staccatos and the DCV-C.
I was really interested in the Staccato-C. I was thinking it could be a new carry gun for me with the thin frame. It just didn't feel right in my hand. Didn't bridge the gap between 1911 and 2011 for me somehow. It shot very well. 7 yard line was in the 9 ring (decent for me) and no reliability issues. It was a gun that had a few rounds on it.
The Staccato-P was my favorite, like I thought it would be.
The DVC-C was kind of a surprise. I didn't know if I would like the short grip, but it fit me fine. I could see carrying that if I had the scratch. $3K is a lot, but it's all about priorities.
It's great marketing for STI to be doing this. Appreciate them!
I think the LE market may be getting more specific attention in the near future. The word on the street is that STI is considering hiring a couple of LE Sales Reps. One just for Texas. FWIW, if you were a little closer to DFW, I'd loan you my Stacatto P for a few weeks.......
Correct - it was geared non-LE. But at mine they had a Staccato-P & C, both of which could be LE (and are). They had a CM (which I own so I let others shoot it), a DVC-C, DVC-L, and DVC-S (my fave). May be another one.
There is one available at the S.O. (deputy friend) and I was at the range for the last 9 days straight teaching.... but he was out of town.... and he took it with him
I actually want to hold/grip the 2020 model and may have to wait for them to hit the market and possibly drive to Georgetown (2.5 hours away) or maybe talk the LE rep to come my way when he has one.
I know one area TX RANGER ordered one ....so when it comes in.... I will get to hold/grip/shoot it. It will probably be well into 2020 when it comes in.
