Armed customer shoots robbery suspects at Charlotte gas station

Officials said the customer felt a deadly threat after one of the teen suspects pointed a gun in his face and robbed him. Police said he then fired his own legally carried weapon, hitting both suspects.

My wife drove past there unaccompanied the other day and commented later on how cheap the gas was; my comment was that I'd rather she not stop there unaccompanied.

Police said that when they got to the gas station, they found 16-year-old Qwanterrius Stafford inside with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Atrium Health Carolina's Medical Center, where he died.
Poor little 16 year old Qwanterrius.

Kid never stood a chance since the day his parents gave him such a ridiculous name.

I think the real odds on answer is his mother gave him that name.

The report says that the surviving crim will be charged with robbery.

----- Just robbery? I believe the law, at least here in CA, would be that the surviving robber would be charged with murder.

Because someone died as a result of their crime. Even if it was his accomplice.

CA lawyers, correct me if I'm wrong.

Most states' criminal statutes would support a charge of felony murder for the surviving armed robber. This may reflect Charlotte politics.
