Model 1, a good deal?

I found this on GB, looked like a good deal to me or no?

Well, if you bought it then you did well. Someone got outbid by $.01 - ouch! Only consideration is that a .45 Model 1 requires GI mags. Regular 1911 mags don’t work.

I wanted it, but i held off.
I have bought a few on GB and employ the "odd bid price" too, it usually works.

???

Why would they require only GI mags?

Models 1, 2, 3 come in two flavors:
- standard guns are available in .50 or .45 (or both) and require proprietary magazines for either caliber due to larger magwell opening
- some dedicated .45 guns were built that will take a regular magazine but cannot be converted to .50 later

The magazines are awesome by the way and not that much more than a Tripp. Actually, it might be the same after you upgrade Tripps with aluminum basepads that come standard on GI mags.

Hope this helps

It's nothing that creative, I just use odd bid increments not divisible by 5...instead of $25 raise it up $37.11.
