Just keep ‘em clean, and inspect for damage when cleaning. Yes they’re consumable items. Keep a reserve supply of magazines in case some get damaged in match shooting.

The magazines you drop on concrete at matches? Don't use those for CCW.

I don't know of any serious competitor who uses the same equipment for competing and carry.
