Magwell recommendation

I just bought a Kimber custom II. I'm looking to shoot USPSA with this next year. Anybody have any good Magwell recommendations that I can still shoot single stack major?

A Dawson ICE makes reloads feel effortless.

Yup. Dawson is the way to go for USPSA matches. Its that or Techwell.

Arched or flat mainspring housing? Not sure what difference that would make as far as my grip?

Personnel preference on arched or flat. I prefer flat.

For competition? The Techwell TGO is a nicer option if you like an open front magwell.

I prefer arched, but it's really a matter of how the gun points for you and feels in your hand. If, when you bring the gun up it tends to point low, you MIGHT prefer an arched MSH over the current flat one on your Kimber.

Dawson ICE with the replacement inserts is great, but some guns might have issues when the MSH (4 out of 5 of mine were good, but one was problematic) is swapped out. Nothing a good gunsmith wouldn't be able to correct quickly.

Lately I'm using the Techwell XT and like it a lot. Super easy and quick to install.

Thanks for everybody's replies. I went with the dawson ice and the flat mainspring housing. Should be here Friday pretty stoked to get it installed and start dry fire practice

Dawson's wedge shaped base pads are useful with the ICE, these big competition magwells swallow a standard base pad. It's nice to have something sticking out when you seat a mag.

They make them to fit Wilson mags. It's money well spent. I'd run them on my USPSA single stack regardless of the magwell I chose.

They extend more in the back where there is extra room in the USPSA and IDPA boxes
