Burglary suspect killed while breaking into home, Cumberland County deputies say

A 23-year-old burglary suspect was shot and killed as he attempted to burglarize a Cumberland County home Wednesday evening, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies went to 507 Snow Hill Road at about 8:30 p.m. in response to a reported burglary. The homeowner, 46-year-old Tony Libson, told deputies two masked individuals broke into his home and shot him, but he was able to return fire.

You see, THIS is why I have a gun to protect me and my family from rapists, burglars, arsonists, serial killers, drug addicts, etc. I get asked constantly "why do you even need a gun? I don't own one and none my other friends do.". It's a fair question, but it's often framed in a way designed to gaslight gun owners into thinking they are crazy and delusional. Statically speaking, I will likely never need to use my gun but like car or home insurance, I still have it just in case I do.

If you don't want a gun, that's fine. But just because you don't want one or don't understand why anyone would want/need one doesn't mean you should be okay with politicians and the media spreading propaganda designed to take everyone else's rights away.

Burglary is a high-risk profession.
