What a combination

Any opinions on this? I think its a beauty. I don’t need another 5 inch.
Any Colt fans see this as sacrilegious? I don’t. Trying to convince one of my friends into this one.
Should this be on the Colt subforum?

Can't imagine why anyone would object to that beautiful custom. GI does great guns. That it's on a Colt makes it even cooler, IMHO.

My thinking also. I wish they did it on a commander frame vs government.

Me too. And for total awesomeness, my pick would be on a LW frame.

Yes, that would be a dream gun. I bought myself something similar for my retirement present six months ago. I got an Ed Brown Kobra Carry LW 45. I love that pistol, but a custom Colt Series 70 LW 45 from someone like Pistolwrench, BEC, or GI would be another dream pistol.

I have dealt with the gentleman from Cajun Concealed before & he is the best to do business with that you could hope for. I’m thinking if I wanted that GI I would give him a call. He might just give you an awesome deal on it. Hint Hint.

If I had the desire to do a full custom job on a 1911 of a reputable brand (i.e. Colt, SA, etc), I would choose GI first to do it. My Hellcat is the biggest recommendation for GI.

My visit to GI let me know I'd chosen the wrong career in life. I should have been a gunsmith.

GIs have exceeded expectations since I spontaneously bought my NN cco in 38 super. It might be time for another. The combination thing was a slick marketing tool by Jason at CC.

I was curious to hear from some more Colt fans. I’d guess there’s enough purists that might not like it.

I don't have any GI's, but I like his stuff. I just learned last night he cut his teeth at Wilson Combat! No wonder his guns are well received.

Very cool. Doing a project like this is really the only way I'd ever own a Colt.

I really don't understand they thought process that every single Colt produced is potentially too valuable, too collectible to modify. That is one gorgeous gun that anyone should be happy to own.
