Damn, that is one fine pistol! Since I got my first GI, I've known when I am ready to spec build one, it will be another GI.

I hadn't seen a GI with carry cuts so I wanted something different. I love them on my WC ULC so figured I would go for it. I am very pleased. Thanks for the kind words.

I put a quick 100 rounds of Foicchi 230 gr fmj thru it today. Flawless operation and shot dead nuts ! Really love the gun.

Could you give us your impressions of the round butt? It doesn't look very round to me. Then again, I am a 1911 newbie...

How does it shoot?

It looks like GI just rounded the magwell and not the mainspring housing. My Wilson Ultralight Carrys round the mainspring as well as the magwell, but looks like GI does it a little differently on a magwell gun. Still, it does the job. Here is a pic of my Wilsons, you can see the difference in the rounding of the butt.

Since you state you are a newbie, I assume you know the difference between a round butt and a bobtail. Two totally different animals.

Perfectly spec'd out GI! Bravo, sir, Bravo!! Had the opportunity to tour GI and shoot several of their handguns. Very impressed with the end products, and have been actively searching for the right GI (at the right price!) ever since.

Congrats on you newest acquisition! Love it!
