IOS Users

For those that have the IOS installed on your gun(s), please report how you are liking it, if you have had problems, what setup you use, etc.

I am interested in sending in a WC to have the IOS treatment done.

Thanks

I have 3 right now. Wilson EDC X9 with a Holosun, an STI C2 Duo with a Holosun and a Glock 19 with a Trijicon RMR. They really are a game changer for those starting to need reading glasses! I have issues seeing the front sight well now without them, but the RMR's are completely different and crystal clear without the glasses! I love that aspect of them the most!!

I am already on board with the optic trend and I have dots on some other guns. I am curious to how well the IOS is holding up specifically, though.

Did you have the IOS cut done on your X9?

I did on mine. Straight from Wilson with RMR. Love it. One hell of a package.
Now waiting on my Agent 2 Commander w/IOS RMR in DLC all black. It's been kitted! Waiting sucks!

I think he means he had the optic cut on his EDCX9 from WC, not the IOS from Nighthawk.

What I really like about the IOS is the feature of being able to swap back to iron sights and retain zero.

I guess Iím just going to send Bob a email asking about doing the IOS cut on a Wilson Experior Double Stack Commander.

Not IOS, but the RMR cut. I'm not sure if WC does the IOS or not. My EDC X9 was a factory RMR gun and I've been very happy with it. All of my RMR type sights have been super dependable so far, but I have so many guns that I don't hammer any one gun continuously. That said, I love the fit, feel and shootability of the C2 Duo and it's going to be my carry gun as soon as some holsters arrive for it.

Was discussing about Nighthawk IOS RMR - if it needed the Trijicon sealing plate (typically needed on the Glock RMR mount). I got answer from Bob Reeves at NH that the IOS RMR plate does not require the sealing plate. Question for your WC EDC X9 - did you have to use the RMR sealing plate between the RMR and the X9 RMR mount?

The WC X9 uses a mounting plate that looks very similar to the STI Duo mount for the tactical guns. Here's a shot of it.

So this thing below is not required?

Thanks for clarification in advance.

Just to also be clear about my question on the WC X9 - this is not about the X9 RMR plate (which is required), it's about the additional sealing plate in the kit (link above) that goes between the X9 RMR plate and the RMR body. It is said this sealing plate would ensure full water and element resistance in case the RMR plate doesn't provide full surface for proper RMR sealing.

Nighthawk IOS's RMR plate does not require the sealing plate as it does provide full surface for the RMR to fully seat and seal.

I am still curious about if NH will do the IOS cut on a Wilson.

I don't have that on any of my 3 RMR guns and I don't think it's required for the style mounting plate they all have. Maybe someone else can shed light if they've ever used that for their installation.

Probably best to just give NH a call.
