Unique 1911 rimfire conversion

About 8 years ago I came across this YouTube video of a man who created his own rim-fire conversion for the 1911 only needing to replace the barrel and magazine. He mentioned that he was going to try to get it marketed, but I've not seen anything since. I just recently stumbled across his video and it's piqued my curiosity again. Has anyone seen one of these conversions marketed? If so, who makes it and where can it be found? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuYx...&index=99&t=0s

Thanks for posting this. Very interesting. I've not seen anything like it on the market. Makes me wonder if a company like Kimber, Tactical Solutions or similar sized bought the rights and shelved it to protect their current product line.

Amazing.
With three commercial conversions, Colt, Nelson, and CZ, I am intrigued to see a barrel and magazine only set. He must have something even more energetic than the Colt floating chamber to cycle a full weight slide and recoil spring.
Chamber obviously offset to let the centerfire firing pin hit the .22 rim.

Looks that it would work ...

Looks that it would work regardless of original caliber, as it would appear that only external dimensions of the original barrel would be relevant. And those are the same for any gov't model. Three versions of such a kit would cover all the common 1911-pattern forms.

In the last link are the patent drawings. Description mentions a ‘sliding extractor’ and ‘gas piston’. You can see them in the drawings. At the 2:20 mark in the video in first post he slides something into the slide before the barrel.
I don’t think in the video he tells us 100% how it works or what’s involved in it?
Comment in video link from 7yrs ago asks same question, how’s a .22 compressing a .45 recoil spring and moving the normal slide?
Something doesn’t seem right? And honestly I think if it were this easy as a barrel and magazine a maker would have grabbed up the idea and be making them already?
