In for a penny, in for a pound.

The grips alone are worth the price of admission.

Dave you will be in our thoughts and prayers...my daughter at 19 months was diagonsed with a spinal cord tumor.....we had a lot of support and lots of prayers.....23 years later she is about to give birth any day to my Grandson. Your story stirred up some emotions I havent felt in a long time and I wanted to tell you that through prayer, strength and a steadfast will you will come through this stronger than ever.

Nighthawk Custom is proud to contribute the T3 custom fixed blade knife to this exceptional grand prize package. Designed and built in conjunction with master knifemaker, Keith Murr, the T3 fixed blade tactical knife is built to the same rigorous standard of quality as the pistol which shares its name.

Some how I missed this whole post and program, and I feel just terrible about the situation. I have had the pleasure of working with, Dave who did some reliability work and custom touches for me on my Colt Series 70. We got everything done except the sights when Dave ran into some issues with his health. I would give Dave a call every couple of weeks to see how he was doing, and because Dave really never complained much I never picked up on the severity of his situation.

Dave, if you see this post I wanted you to know my thoughts and prayers are with you, and I know you will be back at the bench in no time. Forget the message I left for you to call me the other day, and just take care of yourself. If you need anything here in the Dallas area please don't hesitate to call me.

I will jump on the build program ASAP, and thanks to all who are participating.

Once again I'd like to thank everyone for their support. From the people offering prayers and encouragement, to the people buying raffle tickets, to those donating parts and supplies and those promoting and running the raffle all the way to Chuck and John for building the pistol. Thank you!

For those who are running their own business (or thinking about it) I would recommend that you either have a good Life and Disability insurance plan through your spouse's employer or purchase one in addition to a Medical Insurance Plan.

I have a good medical insurance plan but there were times when I couldn't work in the shop even though I was physically able to. There were many days when I'd go to the doctor in the morning for a 1 hour appointment and the next thing I knew, I'd be having an MRI or other procedure and would be out of the shop all day long.

I bought tickets a while back and have my numbers - but my email-address has recently changed. Is there anyone I need to contact about this, or are my ticket-numbers sufficient?

I hate to ask about this in the light of Dave's recent passing

I just heard the news that Dave has passed away. I consider it a pleasure that I got to meet Dave. It is really hard to believe just a while back Dave and I were sitting in his shop discussing what to do with my Series 70 after he did some reliability work for me.

RIP Dave, you were one of the good guys, and a big loss to our industry.

News and Updates:

We wanted to take a moment and make you aware of the plans for the Berryhill fundraising raffle.

Because not everyone is on Facebook, you may or may not be aware of Dave's passing. On the 10th of May, Dave lost his battle with cancer. Our focus has turned to helping Dave's wife, Lesa, with final expenses and numerous medical bills. The EWA/ Harrison 1911 raffle has been extended in order to accomplish as much as we can for Dave's wife.

The drawing is scheduled to be held on the 30th of July, 2015. Your contributions helped tremendously in Dave's final days, and he expressed his gratitude on many occasions.

Thank you all for what you have done so far. It would be a tremendous help if all active participants would share this note Graywith your shooting friends, and if you are of Facebook, please consider sharing the GunsForACause.org link to your profile page.

We thank you all for your support, and we've reprinted Dave's obituary below:
___________________________________________

"David Wayne Berryhill aged 54 of Prosper, Texas passed away Sunday May 10, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Dave was born May 26, 1960 in West Covina, CA to William and Joan Reina Berryhill.

Dave is also survived by a sister Becky Steinfeld and brother Arley Berryhill both of Albuquerque, NM, and his two Dachshund daughters Greta and Lily. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Debra Berryhill. Dave was a retired officer with the Redondo Beach CA Police Force. Dave was a gunsmith and owner of Berryhill Customs LLC, he was well known for his work with 1911's. Dave's gentle disposition and loving smile will be missed."
