Red morrel on a Dan Wesson Valor. The color is closest in the first photo but the leather in the second is a nice touch.
Thanks R. R.

Another view of crosscut mammoth tooth on a Wilson CQB. The colors work so well on this gun.

Three very similar guns...Wilson Combat Supergrades... wearing three very different mammoth tooth grips.

Left is flat cut
Middle and right are crosscut.
The color is determined by the the environment in which the tooth resided for tens of thousands of years (ice, ocean, river, etc).

For more photos, see our Sold Grip Gallery

We decided to post photos of some especially nice sets of grips where we don't have a good photo from the customer showing them mounted.

This is a striking set of two tone amboyna with starburst and thumb notch.

We have no CNC equipment. A manual mill is used for precision cutting of holes and safety reliefs...everything else is done by hand, including the starburst and thumb notch.

Old school craftsmanship.

Here are a couple of extraordinary English walnut sets. Both were fit to Nighthawks with a one piece magwell.

Gummy Yorrell on a custom build by Dave Laubert of Defensive Creations.
Photos by gun owner.

Detail of bobtail. The color in the customers photo is more accurate, but this one gives a nice view of the well defined facets and the crisp corners.

Challis Grips,

Do you offer different finishes?
-Sanded / polished to certain grit levels?
-Different types of oils used for final finish?
-If one plans to apply a polyurethane gloss finish, how do you recommend we place the order? Such as without the oil coat?

Also, 2 more additional questions for Challis:
-what is your favorite type of wood to work with for grips?
-do you have any pictures of grips made with Curly Koa?
