Gave my last pillow gun to my son so I replaced it with my old SIG P229 in 357. G/F hates it there and has to use two pillows.

Colt rail gun with surefire xc1. Condition 1 with a CM 10 round backup. Also keep keep the wifes springer XDM right next to it along with a flashlight.

Both in a small safe that bolted inside my night stand. We have 3 children so everything is locked up even though they all shoot and know how to handle firearms we are not willing to take any chances.

Taurus Judge, loaded as follows: PDX1 Defender, PDX1, 45lc, 45lc, PDX1
Glock 19, Gen 4, w/night sights, loaded with Golden Sabers (and extra mag)
Sig P238, w/night sights, loaded with Critical Defense (and extra mag)

The Judge would be the one I would grab if needed.

The Glock and the Sig are in there because they are my EDCs and I put them in there overnight.

Keep an AR15 next to the bed, and my carry gun Glock 17 sits on the actual nightstand.

Something tells me you both will end up getting killed while still trying to make up your minds which ones to use.

Avoid the temptation to replace everything on your brand-new 1911 just to make it "better". Know what you're changing out and why. You may spend a lot of money fixing things that weren't broken to begin with. Shoot at least 500 rounds through it first, then decide what you don't like and want to improve. Regarding vintage 1911s, pre-1946 pistols are highly collectible in original, unaltered condition and should NEVER be refinished or modified as it completely ruins their monetary value.

Grumpy and his missus do seem to be prepared for a full-on battle. As much as I enjoy a loud, chaotic gunfight, wouldn't it be better for them to move to a safer neighborhood.
