Ruger sr1911 9mm commander lightweight

What pound is the hammer spring,and recoil spring?

Don’t know the stock specifications of the springs but the recoil spring is light. I put a WC 12lb spring in mine. Functions flawlessly.

I think the stock weight was 16lbs. I recall seeing that when I was looking for a different weight for suppressed shooting.

16lbs is more standard for 45acp.

Good information there. Just to verify where I researched my information. I went with the recommendation of Wilson Combat which is their 12lb spring for 9mm and 38 super. I can honestly say whatever Ruger put in my LW commander it definitely doesn’t feel as strong as the WC 12lb spring when you pull on the slide.

My bad. I bought a 16# spring for suppressed shooting.

Found this on another forum:

Well I got hold of Ruger’s Tech Support this morning and the nice lady there advised the OEM recoil spring is 10# and the main spring is 18#.
