A 100' defensible area around structures is what Cal Fire calls for.
After last year's devastative fires in CA, this year is looking pretty grim as well.

Colorado is sure getting hit hard right now!

What are your thoughts on preparing for fire season and surviving wildfires?

Offhand, if it was me.

I would say to just burn everything in sight. Get it all out of the way in the beginning. Why wait for surprises?
