S&W 1911 Roll Call

Conducting a S&W 1911 roll call- what do you have & what do you use it for.

For me, I have a E series (SKU 108482) that I only changed the front sight to a Dawson FO. Very accurate and well made 1911.

http://www.smith-wesson.com/firearms/sw1911-e-series

My purpose is occasional competition (IDPA and USPSA). In fact am likely going to use it a Untouchables themed IDPA match we are putting on soon.

So lets hear it, what S&W 1911(s) do you have & what do you use them for?

E-Series was my first 1911

Then there is a nice previous generation PC

Last one is a PC scandium that has been worked on by Rob at Alchemy and is now a great carry

These were lost in that terrible boating accident!

Top to bottom:

PPC 9mm: For PPC Semi-Auto Open Class
PC 1911 45ACP: For Precision Pistol Games
TALO 1911 45ACP: For Action Pistol Games
Doug Koenig 1911 45ACP: For Action Pistol Games

(Shot the "Untouchables Match" a few years ago, great fun!)

Shoot often, shoot safe, reload and repeat.....

Still have an early Commander size pistol I put Carbon fiber grips on.

And a couple of the Perf Center 1911s I bought back in 2014.

Nice pistols all. They are range toys.

SKU 108282 Post Billboard with a small SW1911 rollmark LH side of slide
5" Matte finish stainless steel. .45 ACP
Mods:
* Les baer Matte Stainless Flat MSH w/vertical serrations
w/Titanium MS Cap & Hammer Strut
* Guy Hogue Rosewood grip panels
* Ed Brown extended tactical LH blued thumb safety
Great fit/finish & dehorned as it ame outta the box

Often it has been mistaken for a higher end 1911 by those handling it.
my gunsmith sez it's a nice one.

Mostly Range & Some CCW
My usual EDC is RO Compact .45

Picked up a new SW1911 3” Pro Series in 9mm 2 weeks ago (looks like all the rest of them). Put 100 rounds through last Thursday, 100 today. Zero issues. Soon as my Stinger 3 holster gets here, it will be my EDC...and I’ll continue 50-100 rounds a week.

For revolvers - Smith & Wesson. For pistols (especially of the 1911 flavor) - Colt. (Kind of like IU for basketball, but Notre Dame for football. )

Variety... it's all about variety with this hobby - particularly if it's all quality stuff!!!! Some days it's gin & tonic, other days it's rum & coke, with the occasional screwdriver tossed in every so often just for grins!

This is a good little gun - Pro Series Subcompact. Shoots great, but the sight was off so I’m still trying to get it right. Just another excuse for a range trip after I use the sight press at a local shop.

New to forum so forgive me if there is another section I should post this in but I just acquired through trade a S&w 108282 “billboard” 1911 in mint condition in original box and all and was wondering the true monetary value of this firearm if someone would be so kind to help me figure this out ? Two new ones on Gun Broker for about $900 with no bids. For used, discount from there based on condition. A guess for one LNIB: $600-650.
