Grip screws

Thinking of buying a Ruger SR1911 CMD lightweight. I'd like to put some grips on it that I already have but I need to know how far apart the grip screws are on the lightweight. Anybody know? Thanks.

They are standard 1911 configuration. I believe they shipped with thin profile bushings. I replaced mine with the standard for normal thickness grips. If you have Government 1911 grips they will fit.

Not a silly question as there have been some differences in flavors of 1911s over the years and welcome to the forum.

The grips on the LWT CDR are thin grip panels. If you put on standard grip panels you may have to change the grip screw bushings to give you the right stand-off. Get the right tool for removing and install the grip screw bushings (1911 Grip Screw Bushing Driver). I didn't and buggered one pretty badly.
Took it to a smith who heated it and got it out and removed all of them. They all had lock-tite on them. I called Ruger and ordered new bushings. I asked them if they required lock-tite on the threads and they said they didn't use lock-tite. I know I didn't put it on there!...

Save yourself some angst by using the right tool...it looks like (and I'm sure many here will use a) flat-blade screw driver, but the bushing driver is worth the money...
