SR1911-The more I shoot it, the better I like it.

I've been regularly shooting my Ruger SR1911 for a few months now.
I have not had a single problem. The only modifications I made were to trim the thumb safety to a "close to Colt" style, fit a short solid trigger, and put on slim alumagrips.
Today it was shot by 5 different people. Over 700 rounds. Six different loads. I used every magazine I could find - Colt, Metalform, Mecgar, McCormick, Wilson, Auto Ordnance, Ruger, Gun-Show Surplus and a couple Who Knows?.
I drew it from the holster and began shooting with Federal HydraShok's that were in it. We shot HydraShoks, WWB, PMC FMJ, Golden Sabers, Tula steel cased, and my 230 hardcast TC reloads. I, my son, his friend, and his friend's two teenage boys shot fairly continuously until we exhausted the ammo we had on hand.

Everyone hit everything. One of the boys emptied a magazine, turned to his father and said, "Dad! We need one of these! I can HIT with it!"

I really like this gun!

I love my stock SR1911 Commander.

She's just perfect! Accurate, reliable and I have never had an issue with her.

She is one of three I carry.

Colt Officers enhanced.

Kimber Custom II.

and my Ruger it doesn't get any better than this!

I always wonder at the people who get all the "junk" Rugers.
My experience with them has been exceptional.

Once again it proves my theory that Ruger picks certain individuals and makes sure, somehow, that they only get all the substandard firearms that they produce.

I'm not saying someone did not get a "junk" Ruger, or that they jacked it up themselves. I'm just saying that my experience with Rugers has been far better than their's.

I never re-lubed all afternoon. Just went with it as it was. I inspect and re-lube on Sunday afternoons or after shooting. So after a week of concealed carry it was good for at least 700 rounds with no indication that it would stop.

Like I said, I like this gun!

I like your shooting nearly as much as your SR1911C.
