Here is a gripe with this forum

Life goes on as they say and I'm care giver to my sick wife. So I login, and start replying to a thread. I have to walk away for a while, come back to continue my post and it is lost as I'm not logged in anymore. I don't type fast and try to get my thoughts easy to understand, but it sure is frustrating. When it happens I just don't bother starting over.

That is terribly frustrating. Never used to be that way.

AZ Husker is correct. But I've had that problem for years with other professional sites, and habitually type into Word or some such, then copy/paste/reply. It has the added benefit of not letting me send an email or comment off half-cocked!

Not quite as handy, but way better than losing work.

I click the remember me box when I initially log in and never log out.
To reply to a post, if you click the blue 'Post Reply' box instead of using the 'Quick Reply' dialog box, I think this will save your reply.
I hope this helps, Pedro.

Anytime you have to leave the computer. Do a quick select and copy of what you have typed out before you leave. That way if for some reason the page gets changed or lost. All you have to do is find the post again, hit reply and then paste the saved "previously copied" comments right back in.

Some times life Sucks. I send you my best wishes and will pray for your Wife's health.

I believe Pedro has the answer .

I stay logged on for hours some times while I'm doing other things and never get logged out due to inactivity .

Using both of these will almost guarantee that it will never happen again.

Some forums also auto save your text after a minute or so as well. Maybe that is something that could be integrated here too?

You should always hit the remember me button too.

right click, highlight and copy what you have written.
Then you can paste it back in place when you return.

Thanks all, I am now doing the "remember me" now and will also do a copy/paste on things I spend time typing.
