Springfield 1911-A1

Traded into this older Springfield 1911-A1. She left the factory in 1989 as a 1911-A1 Custom. She has Springfield Custom on the slide.

I completed a qualification for work. Fifty rounds total from the 7-15-25. I scored a 100. First time I fired the pistol. To say I am happy would be an understatement.

Here is the pistol and the target

Kimber Pro Carry II 7yds. Five rounds. First time a shot a Kimber, not bad for a rental.

I disagree. No matter how good someone is, there always is someone else better. The only person you need to be "better/worse" than is yourself. Save your targets, or measure them, or score them, and over time see how well you're doing.

It depends on the day. Last week I couldn't shoot groups smaller than watermelon sized at 15 yards.

My last recorded target with my Desert Eagle 1911G at 50' indoors. I always shoot poorer indoors than outside.

My first colt gvt 70 series built about 38 years ago by the late Jim Boland.
The barrel was installed a year after by the late Irv Stone, founder of bar-sto.
Here is a pic of the pistol that day with our resident chickens.
This was the day I was chronographing the WWII EC43 vintage ammunition.

I was admiring your Colt and notice the 'local deluxe breakfast' walking on your range. Mahalo for sharing.

Little better maybe. Changed out the grip to the Pachmayrs. I like them a lot, but they may be a bit sticky for carry.
Head = 8 @ 12 ft then
7 @ 25 ft
7 @ 50
7 @ 75
7 @ 25, 50 the 25 again

Still loving the SA loaded target. These targets put me just over 9,000 trouble free rounds. Head/shoulders was 6 magazines at 10 yards. Second one is 6 magazines at 20 yards. Average 1 shot/second.
