looking for my first 1911 under 400 otd

can i do? i have my heart set on a 1911 since the first time i saw and shoot one... like a 5 inch... a ria or firestorm sound good but no local dealers carry if i order i one online by called local gun shows and garden does not want to ffl a handgun or well do for 65-110 plus 5 cost of the firearm???? i am columbus ohio anyone local know i can do.... and yes i am poor so no joking please

under 400? i doubt it would happen new. used possibly and then i'd be really conserned about what i was buying. my suggestion is to save up. you can get a new taurus pt1911 at buds for between 550 and 600, i hear good things about RIA also.

Centerfire Systems has the basic 1911 for $360. My local FFL charges $20 per transfer, including background check. No sales tax for online purchases, so you can get it for ~$380. If you're having trouble finding an FFL who does inexpensive transfers, check out the list that Gunbroker maintains, that is how I found my local cheap FFL.

i just put money down on my first 1911 as well. same boat as you i got a RIA compact.

The Cabela's up in Dundee, Mi usually has RIA in stock for about 385. you would have to have it transferred to Ohio. Might be woth the look though.

a standard full size ria is about 400 out the door, and a goooood deal at that too.

Just paid $389 plus tax for my American Classic Deluxe. I actually went to buy the Taurus and was totally surprised that the factory trigger was waaay better on the American Classic than the Taurus. I figured I could pocket the extra $180 he was asking for the Taurus for another day.
