To Post a picture

1. I opened an ImageShack (IS) account which was relatively simple and free.
2. Uploaded a picture to my IS account
3. Opened the picture in my IS account
4. Right clicked on the picture and selected "view image"
5. Once image opened, right click on the picture and selected "copy image url"
6. Now begin a new or reply to a thread in this 1911 forum and click the yellow box icon with a mountain and sun which is the third icon from the lower right above the message box to "Insert Image".
7. A new box appears that asks you to "please enter the URL of your image" and just paste the URL copied in #5 above
8. Then Post
This should be a picture of a new 1911 just oiled and reassembled.

Test post (quik)

Hi All,

I have a 1980 built Colt series 70 MKIV. As far as I can tell all parts seem to be original. The only work that appears to have been done was some work on the extractor. From the day I bought it I've been experiencing failure to eject issues.

The original ejector was ill fitted and rubbing on the frame, rear leg wasn't seated properly and there was a bur in the rear leg slot which was keeping the ejector from fully seating. (how this made it out of the factory, is another topic all together). I replaced the ejector with factory Colt GI short ejector debured the hole, and is now fit nice and tight against the frame.

Ejector replacement didn't solve the issue. Next I replaced the extractor, stoned, tuned, tensioned the extractor, still same issue. Cases seem to be hitting the lower edge of the ejection port, badly denting the cases that actually make it out. Ejection pattern is completely erratic.

My next step I replaced the recoil and main springs with standard springs.
Current configuration is all stock with the following new parts Wilson Extractor, Colt ejector, Harrison plunger tube, EGW Firing pin stop radioused, (No clocking of the extractor) 16# Wolff recoil spring, standard weight Wolf firing pin spring and 22# Nowlin mainspring. The ejector also started lifting on me, it was nice and tight for the 1st 50 rounds and lifted some time during the 2nd 50.
Ammo: PMC 230 FMJ, and 4.7 gr Tite group with 230 gr FMJ RN.
I parkerized the whole pistol so I'd have fresh wear marks to diagnose. Here are some photos.
I don't know where to go or what to try next.
