Quality 300 blackout upper

While I've never felt that PSA uppers were garbage (I've built a few guns from PSA kits), I've never told myself they were top tier kit.

I am looking at running/setting up a 300 blackout and putting in a tax stamp for a YHM Resonator, and if I'm going to go hard I might as well throw down the bread and go all out and get the CHF Upper with the Geissle rail and swanky barrel, but as I've got time since I plan to source the build (Maxim braves aren't cheap so I'm waiting for a lightly used one on Armslist) to keep the cost down I figured the 300 blackout aficionados might know of comparable uppers that might tickle my fancy as well.

So far I know I want the following.
Cold hammer forged barrel
Adjustable gas block
Two stage trigger
Maxim PDW brace
I'll likely run a 45 degree grip
Irons of course
MLOK rail
YHM muzzle device
YHM Blast Deflector
I'll be making the rig ambidextrous
Still on the fence about an LPVO or doing a Holosun with the ACSS reticle and a magnifier

So let me know what you folks are into, what has worked for you, what hasn't.

Quality 300 blackout upper

A lot depends on how much you shoot and what type of shooting you do. If youíre a competitive shooter or want to start competitively shooting, then I would suggest spending as much as you can afford. But if youíre an occasional shooter or fun shooter, I donít think youíre going to see a huge difference in going with a more budget build. You lose bragging rights about your CHF barrel and MPI bolt, but any recreational shooter that brags about that is just puffing their chest. Thereís nothing wrong with buying top tier stuff because you like it. Just donít go bragging about it because of the name or what it is. Itís more about what you can do with the equipment rather than what name is on each piece.

Hereís a 300 pistol I recently built from a PSA kit. Pretty good quality for a recreational shooter like myself. And I saved enough money that I can always build another complete gun.

Personally, I donít see much need for a 16Ē rifle in 300 unless maybe as a hunting or hog rifle. A 300 to me needs to be 11Ē or under. But thatís strictly my personal opinion.

Due to the danger issues with the 300B/O vs. .223 KABOOMS, why not the 35/350 Legend?

Don't the ballistics of the 35/350 Legend exceed the 300 B/O?

Just askin' for a friend!

The Kabooms are negligent acts carried out by shooters. Not the rounds fault, and I'd prefer a round with a huge aftermarket which 300 blackout has. My father came up with the brilliant solution of buying tan Pmags that are only used for blackout.

I'll be shooting it a lot. My dad just invested in a 300 blackout for hunting and I've already committed to a reloading setup. This will be run both muzzled and unmuzzled because I can...

I have an aero upper w/o fwd assist w/ aero FA BCG, w/ 300blk carbine 16" barrel. no issues that i'm aware of.

does not seem to be your 1st rodeo either, so what exactly are you worried about with the upper?

and you listed a bunch of lower parts.

New to 300 blackout, and I do thorough studies when I get into a new cartridge...top that off with their being so many AR manufacturers that I figured maybe one of you mad lads had relevant experience with a brand I was unfamiliar with.

It is certainly not my last rodeo, but I surely don't know everything.

On the fence about the Maxim...I could always throw that kind of bread into an SBA4 OR KAK 2.0 and a law side folding adapter, or just not spend gobs on a novelty.
