Phoenix area 1911 shooters!!!!!!!!

What do you think of putting together a regular informal (sat?/sun?) 1911 shoot at Ben Avery or Rio Salado? I'll check to see if we can reserve some space for a couple hours in one of the bays. We can set up our own targets and have a blast. This would be great to "warm up " for matches and provide us all with a solid "formalized" practice enviroment. Prefect for B.S. sessions!!!Hey, we could get our kids to pick up the brass too

Let me know the details, I will pass it along to my daughter there, she'd love to come out, although all she has is a Glock (shiver), she loves shooting my Kimber...

I would make it out if it was on a Monday thru Wednesday. Rather than Sat or Sun. Let me know I am from there and would like to meet other 1911 people for a show and shoot. Sounds like big fun to me.

I'm a CCW instructor, and can reserve pistol bays at Rio Salado Sat or Sun work for me, but we need to have advance warning to arrange a bay. BTW there is a steel match at Rio every Tues evening. Email me off list of details.

"I love the plate racks, plate racks are my friend..." A shooter recently overheard chanting this at a local IPSC match.

The shooter in question HATES plate racks. The chant is a joke amongst his friends and to an outsider hearing it for the first time, it's funny as hell

Hey Tom,

And who would that shooter be?????

And yeah--the first time I heard it, I laughed my a$$ off!!!

I'm in for a get-together on the weekend at Rio Salado. But like Tom said, any 1911-lover in the east valley really ought to consider the Practical Pistol matches on Tuesday nights. They are a LOT of fun.

Does Rio Salado have a website? Haven't been there or to Avery. Usually go to Caswell's indoor range or out on BLM land near Maricopa...

I would be interested doing some informal get togethers. Ben Avery practice bays can be reserved if a person has an IDPA card with a recent qualification, first come , first serve for $ per person. But the chances of getting an open bay on a weekend are 1 in a 100.

The Glock Talk Shooting Club has a monthly shoot at Ben Avery. The next shoot is this Saturday 3/17 from 8:00 - noon at the Practical Pistol Range. It's pretty informal and no you don't have to have a Glock. Non-members can shoot one time without joining. The range fee is $4 and membership is $25 a year.

We shoot once a month on Saturday mornings and a couple of night shoots. The night shoots are great. You get to practice with your night sights. For more info, follow link. http://glocktalk.com/docs/gtubb/Foru...ML/000043.html
