Insurance question

When I signed up to become a member of this forum, I recall being asked a question about my insurance company. Out of curiosity, why was the this question asked? I'll admit, I found it to be an odd question.

Well, that's a new one. I've never heard of that before. What type of insurance? Car, health, or home? Can you remember the exact question?

That’s odd. I just registered a week or so, and I don’t recall such a question. Are they different for each person?

Thanks cyanghost. I've never seen or heard of that before on this Forum. I'm going to send it to our IT support staff and see if we can find out what's going on.

I tried the link supplied by Retired Rod, and a pop-up advised me that I was not authorized to read that thread! The plot thickens...

No plot, I think Rod forgot that the linked thread was in the Moderator's Only section of the forum. The response from the VS Support folks was:

"Looks like it's an anti-spam question. Probably there so admins can better spot spam account when they sign up. It does say it's optional next to it."

The gist is you don't have to provide an answer to it.
