Replacement Magazine Springs

I recently purchased the Rock Island Armory M1911-A1 Tactical II 9mm. It came with the Mec-Gar 10 round magazine. I've been having trouble with the first 3 rounds jamming nose first in to the feed ramp. If I only load 7 rounds it works perfectly. I think I need an extra power mag spring to solve the problem but I haven't been able to find any. I've tried Wolff and Mec-Gar as well as a few other spring manufactures but they don't make extra power springs for the 10 round 9mm Mec-Gar mags. Has anyone found a spring that works with the Mec-Gar mags ? Thanks in advance.

Think you are searching for the wrong thing.

All you want is a spring for any 1911 style magazine with 10 round capacity. Found it in like 5 seconds at MidwayUSA.

Now I would also offer that you should consider trying a different follower if the new springs don't work. Followers can affect capacity, the spring collapse I mentioned in an earlier post, and most importantly nose angle.

Another good resource is Especially if you want to try out different brands. Most 1911 owners build inventories of different brands to suit their pistols. No idea why they are so problematic - but only a few (Wilson, CMC) will always work in any platform. But then you pay for that.
