Well I suppose you could look em over. If you do not consider yourself qualified you could take somebody with you.

The problem with most used 1911 pistols today is you have no idea what bubba has done unless you can spot it.

The problem with most new 1911 pistols today if you drink the kool aid is they are sending em out without checking them.

Well bubba checks em. He changes a few parts. He ignores the owners manual. Next thing you know his wife is asking if it is the fourth of July.

Are u ready for this journey?

Seriously though, I passed on some used deals and now I have some I bought new. Here are one.

chuntaro has it right...I'd go that route (actually I did go that route ) and have been pleased with the choice ever since...only real issue I have had was my own thumbs fault making contact with the ambi-safety (I'm a SouthPaw) while shooting...

I've used a PT99 (the adjustable sight version of the PT92) as a home defense gun for years. I also use a PT92 as my "in-car" gun. I trust both to do what they are intended to do.

The ONLY time I have doubted using either of these pistols happened recently, when I acquired my first PT1911. I had never fired a 1911 pistol before buying the Taurus PT1911. Have mercy I like this pistol.

I'm still using the PT99 for home defense but that PT1911 keeps getting closer to the nightstand!!!
