I'll start it off with a 21 gun salute. In 1964 I joined the US Army and was introduced to the US 1911A1. Growing up in Long Island New York, I had never even handled a pistol let alone shot one. Somewhere along the line I fell in love with the 1911. When I got out of the Army I obtained a pistol license and the 1st gun I bought was a Colt Govt model .45ACP. This is my current collection.

Clockwise from top left

Lightweight Commander - late 90s

Lightweight Officers frame from the late 80s with a 1991A1 commander upper

Early 80s Series 80 Government model with some basic work from Wilson's (I've had this gun longer, and carried it more than any other handgun I own)

Early 90s 1991A1 Government model

I need to take a new picture the 1991A1 Govt Model now has a commander hammer and skip checkered grips too
