ONLY since I was a Webelo, in 1976.

In THOSE days in rural NC, we carried 'em to school, sharpened our pencils with 'em, and the teacher didn't give it a second glance...

I carry my Spyderco PM2, when I wear jeans which is most of the time. If I wear dress pants, I have a Benchmade that doubles as a money clip.

I've carried one on and off since about third grade. For some reason, in high school, my mother freaked out about my small pocket knife. I guess she thought that I was going to get into knife fights at school. So I laid off until I was in college. So for the past 40+ years, I've had a pocket knife unless prohibited (airplanes, courthouses)

I carry an auto every day, and have for many years. Current inventory L to R; Bushmaster Tactical/rescue, Boker Kalish, Piranha Bodyguard, Gerber Covert, and Pro-Tech Godson.

Yep. Three on me and all for different purposes.

Like the dad in the article. My response when someone asks if I have a knife on me is, "Do I have my pants on!" I've also been known to ask then, "Why don't you have one on you?"

I carry a took kit in my trunk. I've been asked "why?" and my answer has been "If I didn't have it, I couldn't lend you these pliers."
