Went off the deep end today and ordered a Custom PRO CDP in 45 ACP. To be used as my EDC

So a Kimber Custom is a 5" gun and a Pro is a 4" gun. Do you mean a CDP Pro from the custom shop?

I used to have a Pro and an Ultra. Very fine pistola. Make sure you break it in and of course , well ahem

Yup, in "Kimber Speak", Custom means a 5" gun, Pro is a 4" barrel/slide.

I've got two Pro CDP's, one in nine, one in .45. Nice guns, good balance between velocity and sight radius.

Congrats on your new Pro CDP. Pics when she's in-house!

Did you buy this new? Looks much different than any CDP I have ever owned. Note the "Carry Melt" on the slides on Rick's guns.

I purchased the Kimber Pro CDP brand spanking new from my LGS. Now it looks even more different.

Post_5, good catch on Kimber's latest CDP line.
https://www.kimberamerica.com/pro-cdp-ii

Calif. version:
https://www.kimberamerica.com/pro-cdp-ca

It seems Kimber has cut back its "melting" compared to CDPs of old. I'm sorry to see that, but pleased to see Kimber no longer puts its Series II firing pin safety system in those CDPs anymore unless you get a Calif.-compliant version.
