Let us see your 5" guns.

They did not make a lot of them, but they made some. I have three, a model 25-7 in .45 Colt that I bought new when they came out. A Detroit PD trade in model 10-5 that I got cheap. And a Colt Official police in 38-200. I probably paid too much for that one but I have never seen another one like it.

Let's see your five inch wheel guns.

I've had a few 5" wheel guns along the way. One a S&W 27-2.

Are you sure? They look like Craig Spegel grips to me. I only ask because you're not the owner.

Beautiful in either case.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

I agree, the grips on the 3 N frames sure do look like Spegel's to me. His checkering style.

I've gotten so many picture from a couple of friends, I know both of them love the Keith Brown grips and Spegel. I might have them mixed up. One of the N 5" is a model 29. That I'm not mistaken.

S&W Mod 29, 5in

2nd, and last so far, handgun purchased in Omaha, NE. The mag-na-porting of the barrel makes this pretty gentle shooting for the caliber.

1975 S&W 27-2

I think this has one of the nicest looking set of Smith target grips I have ever seen on an N frame.

Pretty sweet grips on that model 27.

I actually have a model 586 no dash that has similar grips, very nice. You do not see them like that anymore.

manderson, those grips have very nice color and figure. The factory grips on my 27-2 were a bland light brown without figure, looked like Pear wood or something. I don't even remember what I did with them.

Here is a scarce S&W Model 14-2 that letters as a 5" and a Model 27-2 5" with the Patridge front sight option.
