Live PD

Saw a Salinas Cali sheriffs deputy carrying a cocked & locked custom 1911 last nite! Looked like a Wilson. Square skeleton hammer , beavertail grip safety

Very nice.

I've tried watching Live PD but just could not get into it. I also can't remember the last time I've watched an episode of COPS.

Yeah, at least 2 officers in Salinas carry 1911s.

I see one from Williamson TX was carrying one with 10 round reloads. Those Williamson deputies seem to have several tricked out Glocks too, stippling, magwells and extended mags.

Not followed by the cameras but occasionally periphilally seen is one officer in Ohio who seems to carry a 1911 as well.

I enjoy Live PD and watch it every week on demand when I get some free time.

Plenty of cartel activity in rural Salinas. Good to hear the SO packs big guns.

Colt 1911s are standard issue for my local PD - cocked and locked. Live PD is ok in small doses...

+1. I can’t either. I do enjoy “The First 48” though. How anyone could think they could outsmart your average Homicide Detective team is beyond me...

Well, I just don't fully understand the show. It's not technically live, and at times the time goes by like watching grass grow, perhaps even less interesting.

The full studio editing of Cops (reality show) was way better.

"Live" anything has no chance against today's reality TV show formats.

In CA several of the smaller departments were carrying 1911s forty years ago like Pomona, Culver City and Torrance. Now almost all the large Departments allow personally owned 1911s.

I had a partner on a task force from Fresno S.O. who carried a 1911 on duty. Never saw anyone else in 18 years of LE do so.
