Depressing. My family lives in the area. My oldest brother is retired CHP - motors.

I'm familiar with Moreno Valley. Inland empire for hard working folks who try to get a break from expensive California real estate prices. Riverside & San Bernardino counties can be pretty rough. Though the perp was on the freeway and getting his car impounded for some reason. Besides violation of CA law with a stowed/loaded rifle in the cab, I wouldn't be surprised if there was other incriminating things in that truck.

Repeat - this is really depressing.

Update: per LA Times headline: "Riverside shooting suspect was Vagos motorcycle gang member with criminal history, sources say."

News last night said he was a felon in possession of a firearm. ANother perfect example of why stricter firearms laws will only affect law abiding citizens.........

A convicted felon driving a truck by himself in the HOV lane of the freeway with an expired DL and registration is the first clue. He’s married to a lady who has 8 kids that aren’t his. He calls his wife while the young cop is calling it in. She gets in the car to go get him and later blames the scratches and bruises on her face on some of the flying bullets as she arrives during the gun fight.

Thoughts and prayers for the families affected by this senseless carnage.

"He wasn't a monster" according to "wife"!

Let the facts come forth. I'm bettin' a "three striker" refusing to be taken alive. Or he was taking out a LEO so he'd get "juice" upon returning to prison. Happens all to often in CA, especilly in the SoCal cesspools!

John, Retired SoCal LEO!

Another reason to prosecute Federally. Iím hoping the FBI, ATF, et. al. go after the Vagos now that they (evidently) have green-lighted CHP.
