Holster wear question STI Escort

In the next couple days, I'll be choosing between an Escort & a black Elektra.
I'm leaning toward the Escort, but have concerns about holster wear on the slide. Does not appear that will be an issue with the Elektra.

Anybody carry an Escort, and how well did the finish hold up on the slide?

Thanks

I have carried an STI Escort for a couple of years. So far it looks like new.

Possibly that could vary according to the quality of the holster you buy.

Can I ask, what is the holster you have?

Thanks

Just curious, why are you choosing the Escort over the Elektra? Price?

The holster is not what actually causes finish wear - the dust and grit in the holster does that. Any kind of holster. After every match I use compressed air to clean the grit out. It helps a lot.

If you’re using it for range/carry after shooting before you reholster wipe the outside of the gun off to get all that grit off so it doesn’t get into the holster.

It was partly price. The Elektra was a set price by a private seller. The Escort was an auction, that at least appeared to be a good deal ( auction ended with no bids at a no reserve $825 opening price ). Things got a little odd. I decided I wanted the Elektra. The Escort auction ended. The Elektra deal fell apart due to the seller having a prior commitment that had fallen off the radar, but resurfaced. The deal looked dead, but I asked the seller to let me know if it fell through again. He said the potential buyer had 24 hours. Now this whole thing was an anniversary gift from my wife. So I'm still pistol hunting. Find a really good deal on a NIB Sig STX. I want to wait the 24 hours in case the Elektra come available again. My wife says I might miss out on the Sig deal if I wait. I say what if I buy the Sig and the Elektra is up for grabs again. She tells me to just buy them both. So I buy the Sig and an hour later the Elektra seller emails me and says the other buyer has backed out. Sooooo. Happy Anniversary.

Nice. My wife carries an Elektra in 9mm. I have one in 38 super and 9x23 that I occasionally put in my carry rotation.
