Ruger lightweight commander in 9mm

A while back I purchased a Ruger lightweight 9mm commander. I always monkey with the purchase, so I put Trijicon HD sights and a magwell on it. I have fired about 400 rounds through this pistol and consider it broken in now. It has not given me any problems in the last 150 rounds i fired through the pistol. I am even considering making it an edc.
Now I have several full custom pistols; but I have really fallen in love with this little Ruger. One reason is that it will eat almost any ammo ( steel case, aluminum, brass case) and I do not feel bad about feeding this tough little pistol el crapo ammo ( mostly aluminum case though - I reserve the steel case for my Glocks). The Ruger manual says steel case is ok to shoot; but I shy away from that. I reload, so brass case is no problem either; but i save it for my wimpy customs.
Anyway this is one fine tough pistol. I am thinking of getting another Ruger 1911.
Does anyone use the Ruger as an edc? .

I have the commander in ss and after it was broke in it has been my edc. I bought shortly after the commander was introduced. I love the commander size and with a good belt and holster I forget it is there after a half hour. I would like to get the lw commander just because.

My 9mm lightweight Commander has run fine like yours, Herbert. I also put some tritium/fiber optic sights up top. It's not totally reliable with Wilson 10 round magazines, so far anyway. The problem seems to be alleviating itself though.

I like my Ruger Commander in 9MM too. Mine is still stock except for the VZ Grips I have added. I do plan on replacing the sights sometime in the future. I have been loading it with Winchester 147gr. JPHs' which it seems to like.

I like my Ruger 9mm also. I'm thinking about minor work such as checking on the front strap. Anyone have any work done on their pistol?

I'm admittedly, uh, frugal, and more worried about utility than looks. So, I use 3M Safety Tread tape instead of paying for checkering.

As I carry various handguns as suits my mood, attire, and activity, no one handgun is an EDC for me. My .45ACP Ruger 4.25" does get carried and shot a good amount, however.

I've had a few breakages and just repaired it again this afternoon with a new rear adjustable sight. I added the prior adjustable sight to sight-in my Ruger and it broke.

I also had two front sights break off and a slide-stop break, yet, I still like this 1911. I'm also using traction tape on the front strap and currently using simple rubber "double diamond" type Kimber grips. I also replaced the barrel bushing to tighten-up one which was too loose, resulting in groups larger than I liked. The thumb-safety was also a bit loose/soft in its action for me and I tightened up the feel with a new plunger spring.

My Ruger 1911 is about 1.5 years old and currently has 11,000 rounds through it. After uploading the photo, I'd forgotten to add I put on a Wilson-Combat flat trigger.

(I'm running a thread to keep a record for myself and this Ruger:

I got some fairly clear skateboard tape off of Amazon and have used it on two of my SS 1911 Rugers on the front strap. If you are careful, it will come out looking very good.

I've been EDCing my 9mm Ruger Lightweight Commander for the better part of the past 2 years. I've made a few subtle changes:
