Newbie magazine ?'s

I have a 9mm VBOB on the way...what magazines do I need? I see some listed as full size and some listed as compact/officer's. Is the VBOB full size? Sorry if this is a dumb question!

Secondly, are Wilson combat the mag to get? I've always been a fan of mec gar for my Sig's. With the sale right now, the WC mags are about $10 more than mec gar still...if they are worth it, I will get them while on sale, otherwise what are the thoughts of mec gar?

Thanks

It is full size frame. I like the WC ETM 9mm mags.

For my TCP, I’ve found Dawson Precision mags have been the most reliable. That said, was surprised at the performance of the Brownells 9mm mags. Good value. YMMV.

Also found that my TCP does not like Blazer 147- bullet profile is too blunt. It works well with Speer lawman 147s though. I went with 147s as insurance to making power factor at the sanctioned IDPA matches I shoot.

I have MecGar, Metalform, DW factory (pretty sure Metalform), some cheap Springfield 9mm Metalform clones, and Wilson ETM's.

All are boringly reliable in my Valor, although the MecGar's have the weakest springs and rarely lock open.

The purpose of the bobtail is to minimize printing. Therefore I want a flush-fit mag in mine.

Mec-Gar Mags

I use Mec-Gar magazines in all my 1911s, Sigs and CZs. For me they are the one and only. Never had a magazine problem w/Mec-Gar. And they are reasonably priced from Greg Cote LLC.

I'll have to remember Greg Cote! I ordered from WC thinking the sale was a good price...I even searched around a little too! Just checked out Greg Cote and he is cheaper than WC sale price, I guess I didn't search enough! Usually I'm really good about shopping around too. Oh well...only a $20 mistake.
