The ECO could be the EMP killer, if the price point ends up being comparable- which is easier since the last price bump from Springfield.

I always thought the EMP was a nice-looking gun, but it really would have benefited from having a 3.5" officer's barrel instead of the 3" Defender size.

That ECO is better than I was even hoping for!
Bull, flush barrel
rounded butt
Oh yes! All I would need to do is switch to my standard STI long Carbon trigger and drop on an ambi safety and I'm good to go! A few more months to save the pennies........
Thanks for the link to the pics!

The ECO will be available in 9mm
I have been on a quest for the perfect single stack 9mm. I may have to take a close look at this one.

I love the looks of both and both are very practical.

I already have a railed gun so I won't be getting the railed gun.
I already have several CCO's so I am not interested in the ECO. But my wife might be. But truthfully I don't know..........

I'm glad I held off on the EMP. The ECO in 9mm looks like what I need.

I'll stick with my EMP. It was designed to run 9mm. Now if they would have done the CCO like Keith told me he was trying to make a production gun,I would've been all over it !

I thought at least the Specialist was unveiled/demo'd at a Gun Rag press weekend back in August.. but maybe that wasnt the "Official" unveiling

I plan to give everyone here an unveiling from SHOT this January. Expect both will be available for purchase shortly thereafter. In past years, we have waited for months for new models to ship. Now that most of the models have become somewhat standardized, however, they should be continuously available. Will chat with Keith this weekend, and provide a SitRep with regards to availability of these models.

Dave,

Would you also be so kind as to inquire if the ECO's frame is interchangeable with the CCO's? Assuming both in 45 acp, of course.

I'd imagine it will be the same frame just with different front strap / MSH treatments to save production costs. And since DW is taking the precision CNC route vs extensive hand fitting, the tolerances in the frame rails should be almost the same?

thank you.

Is the ECO using an officer or standard frame? I didn't see it mentioned where. With the barrel for it being 3.5" it is just .5" shorter than my Pro Carry II. If it is the same size frame, I could use the same holster.

If not, I'll just have to order something (perhaps Pure Kustoms will be making one) (hint).

Generally I don't care for railed 1911's but I am loving the Specialist.

Is the dust cover the prettiest? Not necessarily, but that won't matter with a TLR or X300 attached to it. I am liking the ball cut slide, solid trigger, ledged rear sight, and wonderful lack of FCS.

Add a Chen Magwell and it would be my perfect tactical 1911.

If my department ever lets me carry a 1911 on duty I am going to be all over that. I may just get one for the bedside in the meantime.
