I really don't understand why you'd need input regarding a decision like this. When this thread dies, you won't know more than when you started the thread.

some, like the VP9 or the PCR, I haven't had experience with. I was just seeing input on how people like them in particular. Especially if they've had them in comparison with the glocks etc. Also to see if there was some "hey you should check that one out too!" that I was missing. I'm a statistics major... gain as many informational plot points as possible before making a decision (you'd laugh at how many times I've created bell curves for purchasing decisions and inputted anecdotal information into the graph) /nerd moment

It depends on what you what to do with the new gun; do you intend to use it for SD HD or service, or do you need it to make holes in a sheet of paper at the range?
If you'll need a service pistol get a GLOCK, the new BERETTA stiker "APX", or better still the SIG 320, but if you want to have an accurate pistol for the range get a CZ sport pistol like the SP01 or the SHADOW 2.

Anything with a FLGR is fluff, if JMB didn't put it on the 1911 you don't need it.
If you're going to collect, be careful not to get drawn to a piece that is not original, make sure it is a very good example and buy the gun not the story.

Write each of the models you are looking at on paper. Place papers in a hat. Put your hand in hat. Go buy a revolver.

Sure, I'm willing to shoot your Glock, just hang it up there with the rest of the targets. COTEP #35

That's a good price on the VP9 even before the extra mags. I like my VP9, the trigger is excellent and the grip panel setup makes it very comfortable. Its big enough that I only carry it OWB with a suit jacket. Still that would be my choice among those options.

I'd consider the CZ P-01. Same as PCR except has rails, which would be great for adding a light source for home defense.
Always had a revolver for a bedside home defense gun, but recently bought a SP-01 Tactical(decocker) in .40 and added a Streamlight TLR-1.
BTW, also have a PCR........one of my favorites to shoot. Just a added a CZ 75BD to the collection.
Visit a range that has rentals and see which one floats your boat! BTW, had a Shield 9mm, but didn't gel w/ me so I sold it and bought the PPS after trying a rental at the local range.

I have the P01 and PCR and recommend either. The PCR has a small loaded round indicator that pops up on top of the slide above the chamber. It's unobtrusive yet easily felt and visible. Too, this device is the only one that I've ever seen that I like. Do I need such to keep me safe. No.
