Oh Happy Day! It says the Python returns in 4.25 and 6 inch barrel lengths, stainless steel. $1499. Looks great!

If the street price is closer to $1300, I'll buy one. If $1500 is the rock solid everywhere, I'll save another $500 and invest in a used specimen. Good on Colt for trying. The gun certainly looks nice enough.

I want the 6 inch in the Colt YouTube Video. Ken Hackathorn says the new Python is better than the original in his video with Yamil Sued.

I doubt you will be able to purchase one for list price, probably be 15 plus 5 if you can find one.

Here's the link to the video. In the interview Yamil is continually sweeping Ken with the muzzle. Unloaded, or not, I would have corrected the behavior had he been sweeping me...

I saw that too. Maybe it just looked that way on camera, but I saw Ken looking down at how Yamil had the Python pointed at one point.

$1300 would be a bargain at just a few dollars over dealer cost .

Yes, indeed. The 3-inchers are the most coveted variants. It would seem that Colt would offer this highly lusted after barrel length. I would buy one.

Maybe this will encourage S&W raise their standards a little bit, since they now have a worthy and what looks to be a superior opponent. The new Colt Pythons don't have locks on them, and look like their predecessors.. That is a selling point in itself.

Looks like a real winner in terms of authenticity and upgraded parts fitting and consistent trigger press.

I sold my pristine (1964) 4" version early this year. I had it for 30 years and just couldn't love it since I'm a S&W D/A competition shooter.

Smiles,

Full disclosure: I'm downsizing my entire inventory due to age!

I'd like to see this gun with no vent rib, a half under lug, rubber grips, and bead blasted finish. They could call it a Trooper. There's more to the revolver market than just premium revolvers.

So all you goofy Python lovers who paid psychotically ridiculous prices for your beloved "collector, no longer available" pistols just got kicked in the junk by Colt.

Yeah, I'm afraid that as hard as he would hit the ground, that pistol would end up in the dirt.
Honestly, I enjoyed that video. Well done. Thanks for sharing.
