Couple questions about TRPs

I have pretty much decided to buy a non railed TRP, I have found a online dealer that has the gun I want, problem is they have listed 2 guns that essentially appear the same, same price etc, my questions are is there any difference in the armory kote and the black?? my reason for asking is they have listed 2 different finishes, I just don't really want a matte or dull finish and I am wondering if that's what the black is, question number 2 is one gun is California Compliant...is there any difference in a compliant gun and a non?? I would just hate to buy the compliant one and find some poison pill that I wasn't expecting. Thanks for any help

I can answer your first question. But as to the CA compliant model. The CA model was approved by CA DOJ years ago. I bought one in 2009. SA cannot make any changes to that model and maintain the compliance. Therefore IF SA has made any changes to their production model in the past 10 years or so, those changes would not be included in the CA model. This would include color, finish, parts etc.

The standard non railed model only comes one of two ways . Black Armory Kote or
Forged Stainless Steel, non black with a Satin Finish . I don't know what just black
is , I would ask them to explain . That maybe the California compliant issue .

https://www.springfield-armory.com/p...acp/#PC9108L18

Look on Springfields site at the bottom left click on WARNING CALIFORNIA PROP 65
bar .

Here is what I would tell you . If it says California compliant and you don't live in
California . Stay away from that pistol .. BUT you call call Springfield and
they can let you know the difference . 1-800-680-6866

https://grabagun.com/springfield-pc9...-1911-trp.html

Heres one that says black but if you scroll down to the description it lists
Armory Kote . Great price .

My TRP that I purchased in 2017 in California, came with the wood double diamond grips installed and the black/grey G10 Grips in a bag from Springfield. Since the wood grips is how the gun came when it was DOJ approved. Nothing else is different for Cali models and the others.
We all should know by now how much safer the wood grips are

I've had a stainless TRP for awhile now and I love it.....Read somewhere that TRP stands for "The Right Pistol" and it is for me! It is now my duty/off duty gun and all others are just safe residents now.

I had a stainless TRP several years ago and now have the Armory Kote TRP. It's one of my favorite pistols.

The California version of the TRP comes with the ILS mainspring housing and wood grips installed. The non-CA version comes with a regular mainspring housing and G10 grips.

The G10s are obviously too aggressive for thCA types.
