"Common Sense" Thomas Paine

The American people today are experiencing Government restrictions as never before since the first American Revolution!

“THESE are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated”

Thomas Paine wrote "Common Sense" to bring to the attention of the "colonists" the dangers and risks of not resisting the tyranny imposed by England's P.M.'s and King George II. Some consider Paine the original "Founding Father".

What is getting lost in all this is the conflicts facing our President national, global and
with in!

It is a form of history repeating itself. Not since George Washington has a President had to unite "We The People" to fight both an external enemy and an internal force without upsetting the balance of federal power, states rights and individual rights.

We will likely see the precipice of tyranny before this saga ends!

As patriots and firearms owners we will be tested!

Where do people think that all of the "free" money is coming from? Sad to me that nobody had the guts to stand up in either the Senate or the House to declare that this was theft from the poor suckers who will be saddled with the bill.

Think that our freedom is much more valuable than the $1200 check that we will receive. Do we value our souls so little?

Who said it will be free?

All of us taxpayers will pay it back. Probably with invisible interest.

The longer the economy is closed the more socialism we will have, and we already have enough...

That means we need to do one of 2 things to get it re-started:
1) Have a true, short-term, quarantine of everything for say a month. But we already blew this option, the half-ass fake-quarantine has it spread all over the place. Which leaves option 2:
2) Bring the economy back on line now, put people back to work who want to work now. Give them mask, gloves, social distancing processes, etc. so they are reasonable safe, and move on with life.

We can't have the entire nation dependent on the Government like we have at the moment, it will lead to more, and then more, and then even more, socialism. (We already have enough socialism).

In the days of Thomas Paine common sense was actually much more common. Common sense is sorely lacking in our day and something the media and mob would decry as intolerant and racist. Honesty and integrity once valued and held in high regard have also been lost among many who receive a constant 24/7 flow of propaganda from media and their celebrity idols.

I believe Mr. Paine could see either the future or the nature of man because congress is full of people who think they reign over us, and many of them are indeed morons.

Full disclosure: The quote in Post#1 is from Paine's pamphlet "The Crisis"!

Washington ordered his officers to read the pamphlet to his soldiers to give them encouragement after a series of set backs.

"Common Sense" was as stated a warning against tyranny.

"The Crisis" is worth reading by every American especially at "time like these".
