This is why you CANNOT count on a robber simply leaving once they have the loot in hand.

Most of the time, yes, that's how it works. They get the dough then skedaddle. But sometimes they attack or kill anyhow.

So when people say "just give them the money" I agree----Give them the money!

But also shoot them if you can. Your life may depend on it. In my opinion this also goes for when a 3rd party is getting robbed.

You may be watching the preamble to a homicide. Time to act.

I will not wager innocent life, my own or of others, on the whims of a criminal.

I agree with ASP man's comments about never being tied up or completely subdued. While it's true that you shouldn't draw into a drawn gun until there's an opportunity, if the bad guy wants to subdue you as he did these two ladies, the proper time may never come. So you can either go down subdued, or take your chances on fighting back. You may still go down, but you've improved your odds of survival considerably over being subdued.

If one is attacked and is in fear of their life or significant bodily harm, and one has the mean's whether by fist, bat, knife, or gun, to defend themselves, do so. The alternatives are not good.

Now this video is not a very good example, the disparity of force btwn the SB and each of these women is so vast, unless the women had a gun (I assume they don't), they do not have much of a chance.

A better example would be a large sized unarmed man (on par with SB), or a medium sized man with a gun in their pocket, either who gave in to the SB as a matter of choice to avoid a conflict. There, a bad choice would have been made, but for these women unless they had a gun, their choices are greatly restricted.

For the guys who won't act because they "don't know the situation" allow me to clarify:

----The dude that's squirting lighter fluid on duct-taped women is a Bad Guy----

Glad I could clear that up for ya

There are two types of predators in this world:

Type 1: Resource Predator - As the name implies, they are after some type of resource...The money in your wallet, your car, the cash in the register, etc. More importantly, it is the resource that motivates them. Resource Predators generally look for easy opportunities. They try to avoid violence and difficult targets but that doesn't mean they won't commit violence to get what they're after. Many of them will. However, if you give them the resource they are after, they will USUALLY break off the attack and leave.

Type 2: Process Predator - This is a completely different animal. They may be after a resource too but the resource isn't the reason that they do what they do. They are motivated by the process. They like the violence, the fear, the rape, the mayhem, etc. Give a process predator the resource they are after or try to negotiate with them, and they probably won't break off the attack. In fact it may only embolden them.

There are four lines that you should think very carefully about and, in my opinion, never let be crossed. And if they are crossed it's a pretty good indication that you're dealing with a Process Predator.

1) If the try to move you
2) If they try to restrain you
3) If they try to search you
4) If they order you to the ground

Nothing good usually happens after any of these things and your ability to fight and/or resist is severely diminished after any of these occur. Statistically, your odds of being killed go up to almost 100% after you've been moved.

Reminds me of the old saying: God made Men. Sam Colt made them equal.

When facing an armed robber, comply (give them your watch or wallet) but never submit (go with them, let them tie you up, get in a car, etc.). And get some hand to hand training like the stuff at Target Focus Training. You don't have to be fast or strong or big or young, you just have to know what targets on the body are available to you, and how to strike them to incapacitate your attacker.
