My younger brother in law got a take-home survey in school that was asking if there were any firearms in the house, and his teacher was telling his class to "make sure your parents register their guns."

Should children be allowed to learn to shoot guns under adult supervision?

As opposed to learning on their own?

Or from other kids?

Exactly!

For the Left, every gun is inherently evil, like some sort of voodoo talisman. It's more than ironic that a group that so frequently claims a devotion to science should so often consider a mere metallic object to be infused with evil, magical powers. Thus, they want children to associate only bad and uncomfortable things with guns. That's why schools smash down kids who make pretend guns out of Pop-Tarts or their fingers. Meanwhile, they mount legal defenses for teachers who whisk away their students into the backseats of cars.

It's important to always bear in mind that the Left's actions, from their point of view, are entirely logical. That's why you can't change their minds. For the Left, guns are the ultimate evil, while it's okay to sexualize the same children they claim to protect.

The anti's know they have time on their side. Even if it takes a couple more generations to change the American mindset and abolish the 2A they are fine with it.
They will keep plugging away. We have to win every battle. The just have to keep trying. When we loose, Americans loose a little more freedom. When they loose, they loose nothing. They just try again.
Brain washing our children is a tactic they have been using for quite a while.

All the more reason to teach your kids to shoot.

Have a photo, me holding/shooting a Whitney Wolverine .22 at age 9 with my dad steadying both me AND the pistol. Still have the pistol! Poll is 60% no to 40%.

This is what they do on every issue. They never quit or give up. Things that started as an absurd idea by liberals decades ago is now accepted as normal. Look at what they've done to our country the last 50 years by continuing to push their insane ideas. Either through the courts or through legislation they will eventually get the gun control they want. Just need to push another generation or two through the liberal education mill and add some more third world welfare sheep through amnesty to the demographics and they are there.

The minimum age at the local YMCA was 11 in 1965, and we learned safe practices that we applied to all subsequent firearms (.22 LR, indoor range).

The poll is rigged as with most cnn polls. They make them say what they wish to here.

There is a thread on arfcom where many people hit the poll and within a few hours it still only showed a few votes added to the pro gun answer.

Its a typical liberal media agenda poll. On any day you will get X percentage of people who will vote consistently one way or the other but there are still a large percentage of sheep who vote based on what was just presented to them. Running the story on the 9 year old and then taking a poll means the sheep will say children and guns are not compatible. They have no core beliefs and the media can manipulate them and that is also how Democrats continue to win elections.

Hit this PBS Poll

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/updates/...gun-law-state/

Thank you for voting!
Yes. Increased regulations on firearms are necessary to prevent another tragedy like the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary. 56.52% (143 votes)

No. Laws like this unnecessarily punish lawful gun owners and will do little to prevent mass shootings. 38.74% (98 votes)

Unsure. It's important to keep the weapons out of the wrong hands, but this may not be the solution. 4.74% (12 votes)

How did I guess the first comment would be the "One day gun owners will rise up..." guy? Complete with Guy Fawkes mask. A winning argument from the voice of reason.
