Island Barrel...Three Gun Legal in TACOPS?

Is a 2011 Island Barrel Legal to use in TACOPS? "Island barrel means that the front sight is made into the barrel, so as the slide reciprocates the front sight is easier to see in rapid fire (?)".

Do these guns have a reputation for reliability?

What are your thoughts on an "Island Barrel"... I have never used one, considering a used one in local pawn. It looks factory original? The gun has seen some action, but not bad shape. It locks up pretty tight. STI model if that matters.

Yes they are legal.

I have seen several of them at 3-gun matches and I even used one for a few years.

In 9x19 they get a little muzzle heavy. In 40 they arent too bad. As long as the gunsmith that built it, or if it is a STI build, they should be as reliable as any 1911/2011. Use good mags and good ammo.
