Yep, pretty common, but we usually use Lothar-Walther blanks as they’re superior to the others. Not sure why, but they just seem to work for Pistol. You can get some shocking 22 groups, I’ve seen crazy 10 shot groups from a fixture, but even better is the seem to be nearly ammo agnostic and shoot almost all quality match ammo well. A re-lined 22 barrel will almost always outperform the original. Some of think there is magic to the epoxy, or some other affect beyond my limited knowledge. David Sams can re-line your 22 for about $400.
