High Cap mags

Hi, I'm new to forum and I've decided to purchase a Pro Custom P16 40 cal. I know it comes with two 16 rd mags, but all I could find is Megar 15 rd mags. What is the highest capacity I can get for this pistol? Looking for 140mm mags for IPSC. Possibly where to find factory mags in 16 rounds since Remington bought out Para recently?

Those Mecgars may be too short

Some other options
http://spsshop.es/paraordsps-endurom...0mm-p-209.html
these work
as will these with the dawson extensions
http://gregcotellc.com/cart/index.ph...oducts_id=1612
https://dawsonprecision.com/basepad-...son-precision/
I did not have to do any of the modification mentioned

Those Mecgars will probably not fit-see here:
http://gregcotellc.com/cart/index.ph...roducts_id=603

The combo I listed above will give you twenty
20 for mag/35 for basepad = 55

or for roughly the same price buy the SPS which gives you 21
53.50 USD

I run the 140mm 9 and 40 in my 18.9/40. the 120mm are a bit longer than the factory mags also.

Do the mags not lock in? If they do and the mag hangs out a bit that's ok
By the part number you listed that should be the correct mag.
do they say MG/SPS on the mag body?

The mags do not lock in, they do not fully insert. They look to be slightly longer than the stock mags in the front to back dimension. Mine are marked MG/ SPS CAL 9 / 38 Super. Maybe I got an oversized batch.

I'm looking for 21 round mags total. I have the Pro Custom model Para Ordnance P16 40 with mag well. I have searched a lot. SPS mags are out of stock, what about any other combination. I have the megar 15 rd mags coming, but I don't think they work with the Pro Custom model because it has the mag well, which I want to keep. I always wanted a Para Ordnance P16 40, but mags are hard to find except those crazy 10 rounders. Any suggestions buy 21 round mags and where to buy them. 140mm 21 round mag are what I'm looking for?

Front to back the mags should be 1.37 in or less.
Can you measure? Maybe post some pics?
Perhaps you did get an out of spec batch

I have 2 MBX mags that run 100% out of the wrapper.
http://mbxextreme.com/index.php?page=home

I also picked up 2 SPS directly from their website. They were shipped from Spain and arrived in 9 days. I had to adjust them a little to get them to drop free. The plastic base plates on the 140 mm are not USPSA legal and you'll have to pick up something like Taran's bases to get them down to size.
spsshop.es

Both setups will hold 21 at start but are a little stiff so aren't reloadable at 21.

Unfortunately I did not measure them. I returned them right away when I found they would not work for me.

OP, where are you located?
USPSA has the 140mm rule for limited
IPSC (Standard) does not but the Gun with mag inserted must fit the box and 140mm mags will not allow that

Well I found out the hardway. The Mecgar mags will definitely not fit the Para ordnance P1640 Pro Custom with the magwell. The mags are too short. I tried different base pads. I had no choice but to sent them back. For info Dawson and Greg Cote will not ship to California even for Peace Officers. I spoke with Greg. He was nice but sided with caution as a businessman. I do understand. But does anyone know where u can buy the ACT mags P16B 40 mags? I did however buy some MBX Mags and they work great. Just they are expensive and looking for cheaper mags.

I found that the STI 140mm mags work great in the pro custom, with dawson base pads they hold 20 rounds reloadable. I use them in USPSA limited and have had no problems

THANKS Sporter I already sent them an e-mail, they're already close by this hour so i'll call them by Monday. Still looking for cheaper ones first before I try MBX magz w/c is triple the price. BTW I was able to talk to one, Mr. Jared at Para yesterday. He said all magz needed are on manufacturing right now and quality assurance and he doesn't know yet when it will be out on the market. Hope this brings good hope to all those out there in search for Para magz and hope it won't take that long.
